CHAINSAW CHAIN PITCH

Several factors determine how well your chainsaw chain will cut. Your bar and chain need to be a perfect match to each other. Chain pitch is the size of your chain and is the measurement of the distance between any three consecutive rivets divided by two with 1/4" being the smallest and 3/8" most preferred. The pitch must match your drive sprocket and bar tip sprocket if equipped.
